Saving our Daughters and MyCom present a Literacy Luncheon with Lyric Ross, television star from NBS's hit show This is Us. Young women and their adult mentors will be treated to a lunch and conversation with Lyric Ross around pursuing your dreams, self esteem and transitions.
Lyric portrays Deja, who was a foster child with a strong relationship with her biological mother, who chose to be adopted by her foster family, the Pearson's. Deja seeks stability but still loves her mother.
Lyric Ross is a 2019 NAACP Image Award Nominee for Outstanding Performance by a Youth. The show, This is Us, has won numerous awards: 2018 & 2019 Screen Actor's Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, 2018 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Dram Series, 2017 Peoples Choice Award for Favorite New Drama, 2017 TCA Award for Outstanding New Program, and 2017 MTV Movie & TV Award for Tearjerker.
